"Resolutions"

The Lord has blessed and given a good Christmas with family and friends! But a new year is ahead of us, and the question is "What will we do with it?", "Will Christ be the center of it all?". With the new year come all the resolutions about our health and finances but I think we should take the time to make resolutions that apply to our spiritual lives. How are your priorities? Is God at the top? If Christ is first in our lives, everything else will fall into place. Resolutions to lose weight or better manage your money are great, maybe I will make a resolution to update my blog more often :) But I suggest we all start with this:
"I will put God first this year" then see what happens. God has promised He would bless if we do. "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you."- Matthew 6:33
Put God first this year and seek Him and His will with all your heart and prepare to be blessed this year!!

WOW!!

WOW! Well I know I have not updated this blog in quite some time, but the traveling and college has just kept me running; but I am not complaining, I couldn't be happier! God has blessed in allowing me to become a full-time evangelist with Bible Truth Music and I am learning so much and growing at Virginia Baptist College and there are so many great friends there. Opportunities are opening up like I never imagined: traveling, preaching and singing all over the country, making recordings, it has just been amazing! I have learned that when you give up your own plans, ambitions, and agenda and let God work His plan, things turn out so much better! At first it may seem hard to just give up what you think is the best plan for your life, it's hard to let go of the control of your life, but trust me once you do and you tell God "take me and use me, work YOUR plan in my life" you will be amazed at just what He has in store for you. "Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."- Ephesians 3:20

He Will Finish What He Started

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”- Phil.1:6

I am sure we can all remember a time when we talked about doing something but never took action or maybe started something but left it undone. However, praise the Lord, we serve a God who always finishes what He starts! When He came to earth as a man He went all the way to the cross and with His last breath He cried “It is finished!” Salvations plan was complete. All of us who are saved- we are not finished products, but He is still working on us and one day, like all work He has ever done, we will be perfect, for we will be like Him.

Every Knee Shall Bow

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”- Phil. 2:10-11
We live in a world where God is no longer feared or respected. He has been pushed out of government, courtrooms, schools, homes, and even some churches. As Christians, we have become a minority and we are mocked for our faith. But mark it down, there will come a day when we will all stand before His throne and we will ALL bow down. All ages, races, classes, and origins. Rich and poor, black and white, we will all bow before the only one who is worthy of such adoration- Jesus Christ.
-Adam Davis
“The choice is yours to make, do it then or do it now, but one day every knee shall bow.”

Lets Get Serious About Soulwinning!

Why aren't we seeing soul saved? Why aren't we seeing lives changed? Why are our churches not filled? God is NOT dead, He has not changed neither has his purpose! We have to get serious! We that are saved and love the Lord ought to want to see souls saved. Our main purpose is to glorify the Lord in all that we do, the Lord is glorified when souls are saved and begin to serve Him. We were left on earth with one purpose, one mission, one call to reach the lost. We are too distracted by other good things, but we are ignoring the ONE thing we should be doing. It is time to get serious and give our lives to winning souls for Christ! "And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ."- Acts 5:42

"Praise Ye The Lord"

"Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD."- Psalm 150
I dont know what comments I could add. The message is clear, Praise the Lord! If there is one thing I can say it is this- He is worthy! He is an awesome and mighty God and He deserves our highest respect and praise. So take some time every day to praise the Lord.

A Change of Job and Great Opportunities

Well it's been a while since I have been on here but I hope to stay with it now so I can keep you posted on some exciting things going on in my life right now. It is amazing now to look back just a few months when just one phone call pretty much changed my whole life. That call was from Evangelist Byron Foxx, he called just to let me know that he would be preaching in the area and to see if I would come and be with him and sing with him some. He also mentioned the possibility of recording a duet with him on a CD they will be releasing next year. It has been about four months since that day and since then I have been in eight places with Bro. Foxx and just recently some amazing opportunities have come my way. I have been given the opportunity to travel full time with Bro. Foxx (who is an amazing evangelist and musician) for Bible Truth Music ( bibletruthmusic.com ) this summer and on into my ministry. I have been praying and believe that it is the Lord's will to leave the hardware store and begin this ministry. If everything works out I will hopefully start in July. But there is more, I will also be recording a CD this August produced by Bro. Foxx on the BTM label, and since then we have decided on a second duet to record for that Duets CD coming next year. I thank God so much for how He has opened up this master plan right before my eyes. In January I was so upset and confused wondering why the Lord would not allow me to go back to Crown, but now I see He had many things in store for me that I would have missed if I had ignored His leading and returned to Crown. He has truly blessed and I am grateful. I will be keeping you up to date on my travels and other exciting things that may come my way. God bless you all! - Adam Davis

Exciting Opportunities

As you know I was unable to return to Crown Colege and have been taking classes at Virginia Baptist, things are going great and I don't know yet what the Lord wants me to do next semester but while I have been here I have been given the opportunity to travel with Evangelist Byron Foxx and be a part of the Bible Truth Music team( bibletruthmusic.com ). This past week I was with him at a campmeeting in Petersburg where I was able to sing with HIm and give my testimony and I benefited greatly from our conversations. This Sunday I will be with him in Virginia Beach to sing and testify. There will be several more opportunities throughout the summer, but one I am most thrilled about is the oportunity to work with him at a youth camp in late July where I will be able to serve as a counselor and work with the youth. I am so excited about the opportunities the Lord is making available to help me train for His service and I look forward to seeing what will happen these next few months. - Adam Davis

Excited

As you saw in my last blog, I was having some trouble adjusting to the idea of not going to Crown this semester. But the Lord has proved that His wisdom is far beyond mine, and He has much in store for me here.
I started classes this Monday at Virginia Baptist College and I have enjoyed each of them thoroughly. But what I am most excited about right now is the class I take on the book of Romans on Tuesday nights. What a great book! I have already gained something valuable from the first chapter; and that is what I would like to share with you now.
In the first chapter of Romans verses 6-7 we find an amazing truth about who we are as Christians. It says we are "the called of Jesus Christ" which means as Christians we all have a purpose. Yes, there are the general purposes that apply to all Christians: to pray, give, read the Word, and attend church faithfully. But there is more, we all have a specific purpose and plan from God that we are to accomplish. How exciting it is to find out what it is and seek to accomplish it every day of your life.
Then it says that we are "beloved of God", that is exciting to me. God loves us, he wants to take care of us and bless us. He watches over us and promises to supply our every need. We serve a God who takes personal interest in every human being!
The final thing in these verses is that we are "called to be saints". That is pure, morally blameless, and consecrated. We are to be set apart for service for the Lord, unstained by the world. What an opportunity and calling. We are more than just sinners saved by grace, we are called of Jesus Christ, beloved of God, and saints. Now that is something to get excited about!

Mixed Feelings

I am having quite a bit of trouble dealing with not being able to come back to Crown this semester. I undersand that it may be in the Lord's timing for me to be here right now, but at the same time I miss all the people, the opportunities, the classes, and even the lodge.
These past two days I have been getting calls from friends, roommates, even staff wondering where I am and why I'm not coming back. It is hard to tell them that I will not be able to be there this semester. I just have to trust that it is the Lord's will and if it is His will He will alow me to come back in His timing.

A Wonderful Day In The House Of God

Yesterday was a wonderful day at Broadway Baptist Church, my home church. In the 11:00 hour I had the privilege to sing and preach. I preached an extended version of my first blog "God Has Spoken" and during the invitation we had a young woman come forward and accept Christ as her personal Savior, and a couple came forward to join our church. It was a wonderful and fruitful day at church, and it just shows that it is always worth it to serve Jesus.

"A New Song"- Psalm 40:3

"And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord"- Psalm 40:3

This verse is the verse that I have chosen as my life verse; I believe it perfectly describes what the Lord has called me to do. When the Lord saved me He put a song in my heart and in my mouth as He does for all who are saved. So many times at home I get on my familys nerves by constantly singing. My Dad will say "Thats quite enough", I say "but there is a song in my heart", and he says to me "well, keep it there".
When we are saved we have something to sing about. The Lord has lifted us from the miry pit of sin from which we could never escape on our own, He has set us on the solid rock of salvation from which we can never be moved. This is reason to sing and praise the Lord.
A Christian ought to be joyfully singing the Lord's praises at all times because as the Psalmist says "Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord", people will see that we are happy and wonder why we have such joy in this depressing world, and we can tell them that we are saved and have no reason to be sad!
A lost person would have a hard time believing in Our wonderful God if we go around with a frown. So smile! sing! and praise the Lord; show the world what real joy is. The joy of the Lord.

"God Has Spoken"- Hebrews 1:1-2

"God,who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in times past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son...."-Heb.1:1

All through the centuries of time God has always had a way of speaking to man. He has always had a message to share and someone to share it. Through the Old Testament He used the prophets, they were His messengers for that time. They were used to warn of coming judgement for sin. They are not used to declare God's message today.
We have just celebrated the Christmas season, this is the time when we celebrate when God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth and give His message. He was not just a prophet He was God in the flesh, the living Word of God, Immanuel, God with us. He came as a baby to show that He is approachable, He walked with and healed common sinners to show that He cares for the needs of every man, and He sent the ultimate message when He died on the cross to say "God Loves You" to the whole world. He did all of this because He had a message for us.
Now we have His complete Word in the Bible we hold today. It is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. God's message preserved for us today-it is everything He wants us to know. He wants us to know that He loves us so much that He provided a way for us to be saved, He wants us to know that the only way is through His Son, Jesus, and His death on the cross.
This is the message, do you believe? And for those of you that do, it is our turn. Now God wants to speak through us, He has commanded us to "Go..into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" Let's get busy!
